Creased where folded; in excellent condition. SIGNED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LETTER BY ROSE. Text of letter as follows: Dear Mr Szimidzik, Enclosed are the items you requested. I have not been able to locate a photograph of myself so instead, I have included an autographed stamp which was issued by the Dominican Republic. Although I competed for Australia my roots are in England and I was born near Birmingham in 1939. My first swim was in Sydney Harbour at the age of eighteen months and it became an important part of my life for many years. I won four gold medals in the Melbourne and Rome Olympic Games and continuously held one or more world records between 1956 and 1968. Wishing you every success with your "This is Australia" collection. Sincerely, Murray Rose. Scan available on request.
